How to use 301 redirect – My method does not work.?
What should I write in my htaccess file if I want to use 301 redirect, if I am using the same Domain name, I am using another server for my new page, and the first site had a php extension and the new one html.
I din try putting this in htaccess but doesn’t seem to work:
redirect 301
/discoverlausanne.com/getting_here.php
http://www.discoverlausanne.com/Visit-Lausanne.html
And of couse I did insert the htaccess in my root folder on the server.
Could anybody help me?

I named my file “.htaccess” but I did’t put it in the old server, only in the new one. Should I?

The statement looks correct, did you name your file “htaccess” or “.htaccess”? The file name should start with a period (.)
